A - Anxiety

A lot of people suffer from some form of anxiety, be it very mild or life changing it's a common part of people's lives. I've never really considered that I suffer from anxiety and I've never been diagnosed with anxiety or received any treatment for it as it's not massively impacting on my life.

However, recently I've found myself becoming more anxious. When I know I've got to make a phone call or go to a place I've not previously been I am very aware of a feel of unease. Even having to go to the post office the other day made me feel nervous and worried as I was not 100% sure of where it was.

I think the link is unfamiliar surroundings and people and not knowing but feel that the reason it's become worse recently is due to the fact I graduate so soon and that all of those links could soon be together in a very scary reality.

  1. Feat of the unknown is common for all of us. My husband suffers from anxiety. Early on in his college life, it would cause him to freeze up, unable to do anything or make any decisions. With the acknowledgement and the constant weekly discussions about the reasons for his anxiety, he's able to recognize triggers and how best to handle himself. And now? He teaches an ESL adult class of 40 students!

I may not suffer from it like he does, but I completely understand the feeling of unease, especially when heading into unfamiliar territory (whether its a new job or just a new store).

    1. It doesn't massively affect me but some days it is a lot worse than others, it's good to know that even people it badly affects can still lead a normal life!
